A Little Bit About Our History

Welcome and hello, we are Period Style Homes Plan Sales, Inc., founded by W.A. "Bud" Lawrence. As our name suggests our focus is on classical and traditional vernacular and period architecture. It is our belief that the beauty of these styles of architecture is truly timeless. We also believe that the communities and homes in which we all live and work should be visually pleasing, well functioning, comfortable to live in and create a feeling of pride and happiness.

For over 30 years Bud has been designing classical and traditional vernacular and period style homes and commercial projects. In addition, even before it became popular, he worked and continues to work on numerous projects providing land planning and design services using the principals of new urbanism in traditional neighborhood developments.

All of Bud's work over the years lead to a large supply of spectacular house plans which eventually will all be displayed here on this website and available for purchase. From the beginning of his career, Bud believed that a person does not have to have a large budget in order to have one of these remarkable homes. As a result of that thinking he always strived to include modest, well functioning, affordable house designs in his work. Consequently, he not only has a large supply of house plans but his supply ranges from small cottages to large mansion homes, something for everyone. It was Bud's desire to share his knowledge and love of classical and traditional architecture and these plans at affordable prices that lead to the development of this website.

Our Vision

To development a website to provide affordable authentic classical and traditional, vernacular and period style house plans. To provide a place where it is easy to find accurate knowledge, information and current news as well as offer a means of finding professionals in the field and authentic building materials and products. In addition we will focus on educating how anyone can build these homes in a green and sustainable manner through not only choosing the right professionals, materials and products but by also being dedicated to the new urban lifestyle.

Robin entered the home plan design business over 20 years ago working for her father's business W.A. Lawrence Drafting Services in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As the family business grew so did Robin's responsibilities and involvement. The firm, W.A. For over forty years Mary has been Bud's wife and life partner. In addition to supporting him in his endeavors she has played a vital role in the success of their firm by helping to make all important business decisions and often running the operations of the firm.
