We work closely with you to translate your needs and desires into conceptual sketches and floor plans. These conceptual drawings allow you to make decisions on broad layout and style preferences before getting into the technical aspects of the home design.
This phase adds enough technical detail to the drawings for a builder to give you a preliminary build cost estimate. It serves as a valuable cost checkpoint and an opportunity to make any cost-cutting adjustments if necessary.
This phase produces the construction documents (also known as "working drawings") needed for your building permit application. These documents are used by the builder to prepare a build cost quote and contract. The builder will supplement these with product approvals, surveys, energy calculations, structural engineering drawings, truss drawings, and more for the complete permit application.
Taking the first step toward your custom home design is easier than you might think. Here’s how you can prepare for a smooth and successful design process:
A. Clarify Your Needs and Wishlist:
Our Custom Home Design Questionnaire (access below) will help you to think about the many aspects of your new home, including room-by-room features.
B. Gather Essential Information:
Start collecting important documents and details, such as your property survey, deed restrictions, HOA guidelines, and inspiration photos. Having this information ready will help us hit the ground running.
C. Schedule a Consultation
Choose a date/time for your initial project meeting. We’ll discuss your vision, goals, and answer any questions you may have about the process.
